TIGMI TRADING WELCOME FAINA BY YAKUSHA DESIGN

Tigmi Trading have added another design collection to their ranks, and we have spend the afternoon obsessing over it.

Working out of studios in Kyiv and Brussels, it's safe to say that design studio Yakusha Design have put Ukranian design on the map, honouring its time worn crafts, methods and traditions. Developed with a deep respect for these crafts and with intent to preserve a design movement on the brink of extinction, FAINA began with an expedition of four designers to visit remote and rural communities in the Ukraine, exploring the ancient technologies used by local artisans.

The collection itself has its design foundations in minimalism, contemporary craft, a respect for nature, and sustainable design, inviting us to connect both with one another and our surroundings on a deeper level. Each new collection of furniture, décor and lighting is released upon the winter and summer solstice, days traditionally associated with natural renewal. Each piece is tactile, combining smooth and clean lines with textural and raw materials.
