THE PAUSE BY SOUL HOME; GERRINGONG'S NEW KID ON THE BLOCK

In our opinion, it really doesn't get much better than the New South Wales South Coast. White sand beaches with crystal blue water, cute little cafes, boutique wineries, and more unique homewares than you can poke a stick at, all within 2-3 hours drive of Sydney's CBD.

The South Coast is also the location of Simone Matthews' brand new project, The Pause by SOUL Home. Flanked by her husband, Ben (together making up BAM Constructions), and a team of expert builders and designers, Simone moved on from on from her original Gerringong project-come-local-cornerstone - SOUL of Gerringong - earlier this year.

Sitting above the gorgeous Werri Beach and Boat Harbour, and only minutes from the main village, The Pause by SOUL Home is Gerringong's new uber-luxe cool kid on the block. It will come as no surprise that the intent is all in the name; the concept behind the property was to create a space to step away, rejuvenate and connect. And we have to say, Simone's timing is impeccable - a space to turn inward and just "be" feels more relevant and more desirable than ever after the year that has unfolded before us.

Exuding holiday charm, The Pause is classicly Australian coastal in its design, with influences of The Bahamas, Indonesia and Singapore making their way through to produce an aesthetic that's the ultimate when it comes to classy-cool. The property boasts an impressive five bedrooms complete with their own bathrooms (no luxury is spared!), plus a sneaky kids bunk room - coz families deserve a breather too, probably more than most!

Aside from housing the guest bedrooms (with the master and study upstairs), the ground floor mostly acts as a dedicated social space, with a deliberate flow to the tropically-landscaped outdoor area and solar heated pool. And the entertaining spaces? Well let's just say we would be loving ourselves sick with the over-sized concrete island bench and Bali-esque indoor/outdoor dining space - which is easily converted at the touch of a button.

As a team of strong, creative women, we are always ready to dish credit to fellow femtrepreneurs where it's due, and we can't help but a little in awe of Simone's accomplishments. Property flipping, restoration and project management is no mean feat - especially with a family in tow - and we can't wait to see what else is on the horizon.

Check out Simone and her husband's online series, where they have documented the process of the build. And keep an eye out for bookings in October 2020 via www.thepause.com.au
