PLEDGE TO PROTECT; WITH INTERCONTINENTAL

Hayman Island is one of a small minority of places on this planet that can proudly call the Great Barrier Reef home; it's no wonder then, that many individuals and organisations are so passionate about protecting it.

The 8th of June 2019 was World Ocean Day, and GBR local ~ Hayman Island by Intercontinental ~ has made a pledge to protect its incredible habitat and surrounding reef.

This momentous occasion was launched on July 1st 2019 where attendees received reef-safe sunscreen. A ban imposed on single use plastic across the island has also been introduced, as well as some extraordinary tech being installed which promises to reduce in-room energy expenditure.
