Experience the Harmony of Traditional Japanese Flavours with Contemporary Twists at Kanade
A Unique NEW Japanese Restaurant Experience in the Heart of Sydney
If you're searching for a dining experience that will take your taste buds on a journey, look no further than Kanade. This new addition to Sydney's CBD has quickly made it's mark, with its unique blend of traditional Japanese flavours and contemporary twists. The name Kanade, which means harmony and beautiful sounds of instruments, reflects the restaurant's appreciation for the intricacies of Japanese cuisine and culture.
Our visit to the new restaurant was an absolute treat! We savoured some of their finest offerings, including a divine Wagyu Beef steak and a spicy Volcano Roll, paired with some of the most unique cocktails we had ever tasted. The dishes and beverages were not only delicious but also visually stunning, both of us exclaiming, "this is like a work of art!", more than once!
Kanade's innovative "Tokyo Noon" and "Tokyo Twilight" concepts are designed to offer a seamless transition from day to night, catering to both the busy corporates seeking a quick lunch and the after-work revellers in search of a spot for post-work drinks or a night out with friends. The menu, curated by an experienced team of chefs who have honed their craft across Asia, Europe, and Australia in venues like Lumi Dining and Kuon Omakase, is a seamless blend of traditional Japanese flavours with contemporary twists.
But if you're searching for a truly premium one-of-a-kind dining experience, Kanade is offering Australia's first Japanese-Italian fusion kaiseki, a traditional multi-course Japanese meal with Italian influences. With only 12 seats available each week for one month only, make sure you act fast.
Complimenting the menu is a drinks list expertly crafted by top industry professionals from Maybe Sammy and Tetsuya. The unique range of Japanese-inspired cocktails pushes the boundaries of mixology, with sharing-friendly cocktails served in sake barrels and secretive experimental cocktails that are a first in Australia. The menu is designed to surprise and delight guests.
Kanade's interior is equally impressive, blending traditional Japanese elements with contemporary accents. Nestled within a heritage building, the brick and timber walls adorned with retro Tokyo vibes blend seamlessly with red timber columns that emulate the iconic torii gates of Japan.
Semi-private dining rooms offer a cozy space for intimate gatherings, while the open 360-degree stone sushi counter creates a theatrical dining experience, allowing diners to witness the skilled preparation of their sushi. We loved watching them work their magic!
"We wanted to create a space where people can come together over good food, drinks, and conversation all day long," said Erick, one of the owners of Kanade. "Our goal is to bring a piece of Tokyo to Sydney's CBD, with a fusion of the best of east and west."
Kanade is in the heart of Sydney's CBD, located at 62 Clarence St, and is open for lunch Monday to Friday and dinner Monday to Sat
urday. Whether you're looking for a quick bite, a romantic date spot, or a night out with friends, Kanade offers a unique and exciting dining experience that's not to be missed. Thanks for having us!
