Brisbane: Our New Favourite Stay-Cation Destination

When in town for business in the booming city hub of Brisbane, it's easy to forget where you are. For starters, the climate in Brisbane is near perfect all year round, but especially in Autumn with the warm sunshine and cool early morning nip in the air. Brisbane is quickly stepping up to the plate as the ultimate destination for your next staycation.

Only 1 hour by plane from Sydney, Brisbane is fast becoming an "it" destination for Aussie's to go for a cheeky weekend away. With the shopping strips around town home to the latest in designer fashion and the hospitality scene booming, it is giving the laneways of Melbourne a run for their money. Surprisingly Brisbane has a lot going for it.

Overlooked for some time by its glossier Queensland neighbours, it's exciting to see the changes and developments that have been happening around the River City. I recently was lucky enough to call Hotel X home for a few days whilst on business, and I have to say it's one of my new favourite places!

The rooftop pool has the perfect comfy loungers to work from and not to mention some of the best views in town. Located in Fortitude Valley, and with its close proximity to the city, it is perfectly placed to be a good base between daytime meetings and nighttime adventures. The hotel itself is unexpectedly indulgent, with a nod to the high fashion era of Karl Lagerfeld, touches of glamour and playful hints of luxury are discovered when wandering the hotel.

I spent my time between meetings in the restaurant, the rooftop bar and the pool with my laptop in hand and found a happy place to sit and be welcomed everywhere I went. I even found time to indulge in a swim between meetings which makes working and traveling so much more of an enjoyable experience. It's important to find places to stay that welcome you this way when you are working away from home, Hotel X ticks all the boxes.

After a long day of being on the go, I always look forward to some quiet downtime. If you're like me and crave some relaxation time, look no further than the Date Night package created by Hotel X. It's a delightful experience that offers the perfect escape. Who wouldn't love lounging on a comfortable king-size bed, savoring gelato and popcorn delivered straight to your room, and watching a movie on a big-screen TV? To top it off, a bottle of bubbles is included, making it the perfect date night whether you're enjoying some alone time or spending time with your partner. This add-on package was one of the highlights of my stay and I highly recommend it.

After a restful sleep in the comfiest beds ever you are ready to face a new day, we stayed in a King Premium room which was the perfect size and with floor-to-ceiling windows that lustrous Queensland sunrise was the first thing we saw each morning.
